  • Overview

    This programme is designed to support new managers in the first 12 months of their first management or supervisory role. You could be new to the organisation, or newly promoted to your first management role. It is a blended programme consisting of essential pre-reading and tasks, a one-day virtual course, followed by essential post-course activities and the programme will enable you to carry out your role with confidence and capability, focusing on essential self and people management skills.

        To complete all elements of the programme you will need to:

          • Identify the role of a manager in relation to accountability, inclusion and engagement
          • Recognise the impact of your management style and the importance of emotional intelligence
          • Set expectations, and engage and support people to deliver high quality outcomes
          • Address underperformance and challenge unacceptable behaviour
          • Manage your resilience and wellbeing and support others to do the same

            1. Search for the exact course title in the Find Learning search box and select the course listed as ‘New Manager Programme’ (do not select ‘New Managers Programme (1 day)’ as this learning item is the face to face course which is not currently available).
            2. Select a date via 'See Classes’ and click on Register Now to book your space. If the course is full or no dates are showing, click on ‘Request a Class’ from the Course Overview page – this will put you on a waitlist, and when additional dates are added, you will be notified.


            NB.
             Note this course is only visible in the Learning Zone to managers with direct reports in SAP. If you would like access to this programme (e.g. you are a supervisor but have no direct reports etc.) please email course.booking.enquiries@hants.gov.uk.
